About the blogger

Hi everyone, if you hadn't worked it out already, my name is Tim. I'm currently studying Psychology at University and am in my first year, having studied Psychology, Geography and Music at A2 Level with an AS in Economics. Although I study Psychology, one of my main interests is in music, and more specifically at the moment, musical theatre. I did my grade 6-8 LAMDA exams for musical theatre and achieved a pass, merit and distinction in that order. I am currently in the society for musical theatre at University where we do three shows a year, two variety shows and a musical production. Outside the field of musicals, I have studied the cello to a grade 8 standard. My biggest achievement on the instrument is to be invited to play in a strings orchestra for the whole of Greater Manchester, to play as the principle cellist. On the other end of the spectrum, I have a grade 1 certificate in drums. I've taught myself how to play the piano, guitar, bass guitar and how to sing apart from a few lessons. Music also plays a part in an area of Psychology that I find interesting, called Music Therapy. I've not decided whether I will go into the field in the future or not but it is still a possibility.

Outside of music, I play a bit of sport as well. I play hockey for my university where we play in a league called the BUCS league, vs other universities. I'm usually up front or as a winger, but I've played in other places and I train 2 times a week with the others if I'm free, but I can usually only manage one. I have played basketball for my school in the past as well as football, athletics and hockey. Otherwise, I currently play squash most weekends for fun with a friend of mine from my theatre society.
